inpe's prodes alerts logged 1,325 square kilometers of clearing between august 2025 and january 2026, down from 2,050 in the same period a year earlier. environment minister marina silva said seventy of eighty-one priority municipalities have joined federal enforcement programs. the trailing twelve-month figure also sits at the lowest since 2014.
